Portable reliquary

1414
A princess’s jewel

Designed to be worn around the neck, this five-centimetre-high reliquary is a royal object. It was commissioned by Marie de France, daughter of King Charles VI (1380-1422), to house prestigious relics. This origin makes it one of the jewels of the museum's art collection.
