In 1987, during the "Plan-relief scandal" – which would go on for some 14 years (!) – 26 plans-reliefs were transferred from Paris to Lille. Ten years later, in 1997, the plan-relief department was inaugurated, within an enlarged and entirely renovated museum. In 2019, after nearly 20 years of exhibition, the restoration of the entire collection has breathed new life into these unique objects.
